He married Anna Juliana Theiss 9 FEB 1686/87 in Hohenroth, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia. He died between October 04, 1710 and June 24, 1711 in New York. Anna Juliana Theiss, daughter of Nicolaus Theiss and ? ? , . She died bef. April 21, 1693.

Johannes Maul, his second wife, and seven surviving children, were
among the sixth party of Palatines to leave Holland in 1709. The first
record of his family in America is on the Hunter provisioning list of 4
July 1710. He survived the voyage less than a year. His widow and her
daughters were living in New York City by 1710. She joined the New Your
Dutch Church on 26 Feb. 1712, and was still living in the city in 1716.
