I believe "Whitegrove" was interpreted as "Uptogrove". No indication she

THE POTTAWATOMIE GAZETTE 8 APRIL 1870
OBITUARY
Died, March 23rd, 1870, on Rock Creek, Pottawatomie county, Kansas, Mrs.
Margaret O'Daniel, wife of Jas. O'Daniel, aged 57 years.
The subject of the above was a native of Kentucky, where she spent the
most of her life. About the year 1853 she with her husband and family ,
moved to Platt county, Mo., where they resided six years; from thence
they came to Pottawatomie county and settled on Rock Creek, -- where she
passed the remainder of her life. Mother O'Daniel has passed from this
mundane sphere, leaving behind her a record which -- for goodness,
usefulness and virtue -- is seldom excelled; a record which is worthy of
emulation. She was an accommodating neighbor, a dutiful wife, and a kind
and loving mother. To know her was to love her. Her immediate neighbors
realize, with heart felt sorrow, that one has passed from among us whose
place will be hard to fill. Her funeral was attended by a large
concourse of sympathizing friends; thus testifying to the high esteem in
which she was held by those who knew her best. The funeral sermon was
preached b y the Rev. Mr. Buffinger and was one of marked interest; the
audience being, at different times during the discourse, convulsed with
sobs. Her remains were encased in a beautiful coffin and laid away in
the Ad Matha cemetery, there to remain till the last trumpet shall
sound. We have reason to believe that she died the death of a Christian;
that her disembo died spirit was taken up in the arms of the Saviour whom
she loved and tried to serve; and that our loss is her eternal gain. The
bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of the entire community. N.
