He died November 02, 1963 in Fremont, California. Marguerite Beth Comfort, daughter of Robert Josiah Comfort and Alice Lenora Cougher , was born August 02, 1901 in Westmorland, Kansas. She died November 16, 1960 in Santa Cruz, California.

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Marguerite Comfort,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert comfort, 127 Trevethan street, to Willis
Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Williams of Cardway [sic, sb
Parkway]. The ceremony was solemnized at the First Methodist parsonage
at San Luis Obispo, October 10, the Rev. Mr. Simmons officiating.
The bride was attended by the sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Walter
Lovegren.
Mrs. Williams was graduated from the Santa Cruz high school and has for
the past few years been employed as cashier in Leask's. She is a member
of the First Advent Christian church.
Mr. Williams is a member of Red Men, American Legion, and several other
fraternal lodges in Santa Cruz. He is employed by the Coast County Gas
and Electric company.
Last evening a group of members of the First Advent Christian church
entertained the couple at a surprise party held at the home of the
bride's parents. The evening was spent in a social manner with games and
refreshements.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams will make their home in Santa Cruz.

Services Set

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at White's chapel
for Willis Williams who died Saturday at the Fremont residence of his
son, Clyde Comfort.
Williams, 72, a native of Idaho, came to Santa Cruz when he was nine
years old [not true. arrived abt 1919 - sdw]. He attended Santa Cruz
schools [doubtful -sdw], and worked for Coast Counties Electric and later
for Pacific Gas and Electric company. He married Mrs. Margarite [sic]
Comfort in Santa Cruz [in San Luis Obispo -sdw] and for many years until
her death, lived at 412 Parkway.
, He was a member of the Advent Christian Church of Santa Cruz, Santa
Cruz lodge 38, Free and Accepted Masons; San Jose Scottish Rite Body;
Santa Cruz Post 64, American Legion; and the International Brotherhood of
Electrical workers.
Also surviving are sons, Richard Williams and David Williams of Santa
Cruz; sister, Ruth Manalo [sb Mamalo] of San Jose and Hazel Lovegren of
Paso Robles; and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Bill G. Creecy of Advent Christian church will officiate at
funeral services. Interment will be at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Marguerite B. Williams Dies

Marguerite B. Williams, 59, a native of Westmoreland, Kans., and a
resident of Santa Cruz since she was 11 years old, died yesterday in a
local hospital after a long illness. She had come to California with her
parents when she was 10, living in Marysville before coming here. She
attended school here and graduated from the Santa Cruz high school. She
was always interested in her garden. Her home was at 412 Park way. Her
husband, Willis Williams, who survives her, is a retired longe-time [sic]
employe [sic] of the Coast Counties Gas and Electric company and
subsequently the Pacific Gas and Electric company.
She also is survived by two sons, David and Richard Williams, both of
Santa Cruz; a foster son, Clyde Comfort of Niles; two sisters, Mrs. Edith
Sundean of Santa Cruz and Mrs. Alice Darlind [sic, sb Darland] of Santa
Monica; three brothers, Keith Comfort of Niles, Wayne Comfort of San Jose
and Clyde Comfort Sr., and two grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Advent Christian church and Santa Cruz
Chapter 273, Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. in White's chapel
with Rev. George Teshera, pastor of the First Advent Christian church,
officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Memorial park.
