Louis Lyman Comfort, son of Josiah Comfort and Margaret Ann O'Daniel , was born April 30,1869 in Kansas. He married Jennie Brown August 30, 1890 in Westmoreland, Pottawatomie Co, Kansas, by Rev W H Brown. He died June 05, 1925. Jennie Brown was born June 23, 1867 in Nodaway Co, Missouri. She died April 18, 1937 in at her home in Great Bend, Kansas.

He was a teacher; he taught (1897, 1898) in the Westmoreland school. At
various times, he was principal of schools at Manhattan, Onaga,
Louisville, and Westmoreland; he was Superintendent of Schools (1893-97)
for Pottawatoie Co., Kan. He was also a farmer, and a land, loan, and
insurance agent. At one time, he l. at Lyon, Kan. He may be bd. in
Sunset Cem., Manhattan.

L. L. Comfort, who has been successfully teaching at Onaga for the past
year, has removed to his old home near the county seat and will devote
himself to cultivating the young corn plants during the vacation. Louis
is one of the best teachers in the county and just such recreation as he
is going to take fits him for the business.---Indicator.

Mrs. L. L. Comfort Dead.
Mrs. L. L. Comfort, and old resident of this city, passed away suddenly
of a heart attack, at her home in Great Bend, Sunday. Funeral services
were held yesterday in Manhattan. Those attending from Onaga were: Mrs. F
. A. Brown, Chas Crumbaker and family, and Mrs. George Bonjour.

Comfort.
Jennie Brown was born at St. Joseph, Mo., and died at her home in Great
Bend, Kansas, April 18, 1937. When she was a small child the family
moved to Kansas. She received education at the Holton, Kansas Campbell
Univ ersity. She was one of the pioneer educators.
On August 30, 1890, she was married to Lou Comfort. To this union four
children were born. One daughter died in infancy and one son, Capt. Ed. C
omfort, was killed, in France during the war. Two children survive, Mrs.
E . J. Bird, of Great Bend and [?] Green, Ks.
She became a Christian in early childhood, attending the Baptist church
where her father, W. H. Brown was minister.
Funeral services were held at Great Bend and at Manhattan at the Southern
Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon, where Dr. Holtz preached the service.
Burial was in Sunset cemetery.-Westmoreland Recorder.
